X-Men First Class…

…as it should be.

A mashup by youtube user TheTrailerCREAT0R, that proposes a version of the upcoming X-Men First Class… if it had the ACTUAL members of the x-men’s first class.
I absolutely HATE comic book based films that decide to ignore canon. Would it be soooo hard to make a film about Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Beast, Angel, and Ice Man as teens?
The answer is no. No it would not.
ourvaluedcustomers.net
by Johnny on Nov.10, 2010, under Comics
ourvaluedcustomers.net is a website I stumbled across today at work. It is now one of my favorite things ever and I hope it never goes away. The gist is that the artist works at a comic shop and makes these one panel comics based on the stupid shit he hears customers say on a daily basis. Apparently the drawings are accurate and the quotes are 100% real.
A lot of the comics have some background text to further explain the situation.

Book Review – Curse of the Mutants : Storm + Gambit
by Johnny on Aug.26, 2010, under Comics
The ‘X-Men – Curse of the Mutants’ story arc continues with a one shot featuring Storm and Gambit. The two master thieves are sent on a mission to retrieve a item critical to stopping the recent Vampire threat.
One of my pet peeves with comic books is that the cover art does not often reflect the internal content. Most of the time the cover art is better. I’m looking at you Mike Mignola! This issue is actually the reverse. Upon first glance I was not interested in this book. The cover didn’t grab me and urge me to read the issue and Gambit’s facial expression is ridiculous. On top of that Storm and Gambit are not my favorite characters in the X-Men roster. (Yes I grew up in the 90′s… The Fox X-Men cartoon failed to instill in me a love for Gambit that many of my peers have.)
I gave the book a read anyway, it’s a one-shot that ties into a story arc I am enjoying for the most part, so why the hell not. Yes, this X-Men vampire business is a total Twilight fad cash-in. But at least it tries to be tongue in cheek about it. (And this arc is making more sense than whatever-the-hell is going on with the Avengers right now. Time Travel…. ugh.)

Kate Beaton is Hilarious
by Johnny on Aug.23, 2010, under Comics
C’mon…. we’ve all thought this at one point.
The world of online comic strips is pretty crowded. I only check a few sites on a regular basis. Last night I stumbled upon the work of Kate Beaton. Her work can be a tad on the intellectual side, but I found a few gems to post here. Check out more of Kate’s work at HarakAVagrant
Two more comics after the jump!

Book Review – X-Force Sex & Violence #1
by Johnny on Jul.19, 2010, under Comics
Marvel is currently in what they have coined “The Heroic Age” and so far I have been rather unimpressed with the books that have been released. In fact the X-Men “Second Coming” arc has been the only event I have had any real interest in recently. The Heroic Age is supposedly full of less dark over tones and heroes who do heroic acts etc… which is all well and good, but what about fans who enjoy a little blood, violence, and anti-heros?
X-Force ‘Sex & Violence’ is for those fans.

Found this on letsbefriendsagain.com
Looks like Andy has found a new favorite toy. I wonder if he’ll write his name on the bottom of it?
