According to this post on Joystiq , Square Enix is porting Final Fantasy Tactics to the iPhone on September 15… I have no idea how I didn’t hear about this during E3,  the original FFT is one of my all time favorite games. Ever. I have the original version for PSX, and the updated version forPSP. In three months I’ll own a 3rd copy for my phone.

I’m not exactly sure how the game will play on the iPhone, but I’m not too worried about it. Slow paced games are pretty easy to manage with different control setups.

Two Castlevania posts in one day? It’s E3 week, so anything goes. Castlevania – Harmony of Despair is part of Microsoft’s annual Summer of Arcade promotion. C-HOD is set to be released for Xbox Live this summer. It is in the Metroidvania style, and is multi player.

This game has me torn. While I am all for a new 2d game where I can play as Alucard. And I have played, beaten,  and enjoyed every Castlevania title done in this format since Symphony of the Night. This game just doesn’t feel legit. The story, if their is one, can’t be canon. It just won’t make sense. And if I am forced to play the game with other players I will be very unhappy. I might try playing with a group a few times. But I definitely do not want to be forced to.

However, I would be very content to purchase this game, grab some snacks and a few beers, invite over a friend, and play the game with two players on the same screen. That sounds like a great way to spend an afternoon.

And the E3 hits keep coming!

Castlevania – Lords of Shadow…. I really really really really hope this game is as good as it looks. I have yet to play a 3d Castlevania that I truly enjoyed. Typically I like my Belmont’s in 2d… Metroidvania style if possible! Lords of Shadow looks great in this trailer, I’d be OK with just watching it as a full length film.

The comparison to God of War is obvious, but the GoW games are good, so that shouldn’t be too big of an issue.

Bioware once again releases an Old Republic cinematic that reinforces my opinions that 1 Star Wars can be awesome without the Skywalker family being involved in the plot. And2. That the franchise needs a reboot and Lucas should step back and let fresh talent take up the reigns. Thirdly, lots of mildly talented Jedi & Sith make for better combat scenes than two practically invincible ones do.

Last years E3 Old Republic cinematic was also excellent… Check it out after the jump.

All the big game blogs are busy talking about the big company keynotes, but not me. I’m showing you a trailer for a new MMO that I have been eagerly anticipating since it was announced years ago.

At E3 Vigil Games is showing it’s first look at their upcoming Warhammer 40k MMO “Dark Millennium”…  After seeing Darksiders art style I was hopeful that Vigil would be able to pull off the unique look of Games Workshops Warhammer 40k table top game. But after seeing this trailer, in my opinion they went above and beyond. Dark Millennium looks fantastic! Gameplay details are sparse right now,  but I have a feeling this MMO will have a huge following.

‘Fallout – New Vegas’ does not go on my E3 list… because I have wanted to play it since the moment it was first announced.

Fallout 1&2 are classic games that I have put unknowable hours into over the years. I really enjoyed Fallout 3, but never felt like I was playing a true sequel to the games I grew up with.  New Vegas is primed to be the Fallout I had hoped 3 was going to be. If you don’t already know who the developers behind New Vegas are, and why this is a VERY good thing… then you probably never played the original games and wouldn’t care anyway.

F-NV is going to be a huge seller. Huge.

Hunted: The Demon’s Forge is entry no.2 in my list of games shown off at E3 that I wasn’t aware I wanted to play already.  Hunted is being developed by inXile Entertainment, who I think have a hit on their hands. I’m looking forward to seeing some game play footage and reviews.

Engadget has a really nice gallery of photo’s showing off an unboxing of the new slimmer Xbox360! The gallery does the new system justice.  Before I saw these pictures I wasn’t all that hyped about the announcement. But now I secretly want my Elite to RROD…
