Hector : Badge of Carnage

I have just found a new friend in iPhone game developer Strandlooper Animation. I have just begun to play their adventure game ‘Hector : Badge of Carnage episode 1′ and I couldn’t be more impressed. The art & animation in the game is superb. The writing is genuinely funny, especially if your a fan of British humor. (I am) And on top of all that, it is a goddamn ADVENTURE GAME. If you have an iPhone/Touch, and you like Lucas Arts & Sierra adventure games, and your not above potty humor, then pick this game up. If for no other reason than to support the return of a long abandoned genre.
If adventure games catch on again in the mobile market, who knows what might happen? Maybe we’ll get a new legitimate Leisure Suit Larry or perhaps a Quest for Glory.
Steve Jobs vs The Flash
by Johnny on Jul.08, 2010, under Technology
Everything about this picture pertains to my interests… I hope that one day Steve loses to Flash in real life, like he would if he tussled with the crimson speedster in a comic book.
I love my iPhone, but it’s only giving me 75% of the internet right now.

by Johnny on Jun.24, 2010, under Video Games
According to this post on Joystiq , Square Enix is porting Final Fantasy Tactics to the iPhone on September 15… I have no idea how I didn’t hear about this during E3, the original FFT is one of my all time favorite games. Ever. I have the original version for PSX, and the updated version forPSP. In three months I’ll own a 3rd copy for my phone.

I’m not exactly sure how the game will play on the iPhone, but I’m not too worried about it. Slow paced games are pretty easy to manage with different control setups.
iPhone4 Launch – Dropped Calls?
by Johnny on Jun.24, 2010, under Technology
More news for iPhone4 launch day, Gizmodo & Engadget have both received reports that holding the new phone with your left hand can cause dropped calls and signal strength to disappear. I love new product launch days… gadgets get built up to be like the coming of a messiah, and then you find out you can’t hold it if you want to use it. I’m sometimes glad I’m too broke to be an early adopter.

by Johnny on Jun.24, 2010, under Technology
Apparently lots of reports are coming in that the first batch of iPhone 4g’s may have some duds. This post on Engadget and this one on Gizmodo are chock full of users reporting that their new iPhone’s screen’s have yellow spots or bands… Early Adopter Pitfall? Or, a serious issue with the new phone?

by Johnny on Jun.23, 2010, under Technology
According the this post on Engadget the white iPhone 4g is delayed till late July because it is harder to produce than the black version…
Statement by Apple on White iPhone 4
White models of Apple’s new iPhone® 4 have proven more challenging to manufacture than expected, and as a result they will not be available until the second half of July. The availability of the more popular iPhone 4 black models is not affected.
I want a black 4g, but I really would like a more in depth explanation as to why the white one is harder to manufacture.

6/7/2010 – A date that will be remembered forever as the day Apple announced some stuff. I’m not at WWDC, and the only apple product I use on a daily basis is my phone, but I am interested in seeing if that sweet prototype iPhone will be announced today. I will be updating this post throughout the day so check back every now and then.
